Domaine de Vaccelli is a small family winery responsible for leading Corsica’s viticultural renaissance since the 1960s, Alain Courrèges and his son, Gérard, have established Vaccelli as the name to watch on the island. Their 20ha of indigenous old vines on Ajaccio’s rugged, granitic hillsides have become the benchmark for the appellation.

 

Vaccelli’s whites match sumptuous weight with ripe Amalfi lemon notes and pin-sharp mineral definition. Kissed by the Mediterranean climate, its reds are generous yet delicate and ethereal, accessible in youth yet built to age gracefully. In the same vein as domaines like Lamy-Caillat and Gonon, interest in Vaccelli’s wines has skyrocketed recently.
