Jessica Litaud hails from a long line of Burgundian vignerons, and began her career under the mentorship of superstar Jura winemaker Jean-François Ganevat. Inspired by his experimental winemaking methods, she returned to Burgundy and took over a portion of her family's estate in 2019.She farms 5ha of old, biodynamically-farmed vines in some of the Mâconnais' most exceptional lieux-dits, including some of Pouilly-Fuissé's long-awaited 1er Cru vineyards: 'La Marechaude', 'Sur La Roche' and 'Les Crays'.From her cellar in Vergisson, she produces exhilirating biodynamic Chardonnays in tiny quantities. Made with gentle pressing and extended élevage in old barrels, Litaud's wines are characterised by their purity and fruit concentration, which is balanced by gentle oak and mineral nuances. Combining wonderful tension and clarity, they have that rare combination of immediacy and considerable ageing potential. Turning heads since her impressive maiden vintage in 2019, Jessica's are the wines of a future star.
